What we started. Tomato sauce...3 1/2 pints and 6 pints dill pickles. Skimped on some of the dill, but oh well

Apples

Made 7 quarts of apple pie filling from the pickyourown website -  followed the recipie and hopefully turned out. Left 1 inch headspace but still came out of jars



Made double batch of apple onion maple relish. 6 1/2 pints and 5 pint jars

Prepped for double batch of hot dog relish and bread and butters for tomorrow

Pizza sauce

Tomatoes from the garden and from the freezer. Made a pizza sauce and canned it. 9 1/2 pints done

We decided to make sauce one day then apple butter the next 2 days

No peeling, just coring. Then the course sieve.

Garden is in

Spent the last 2 days working on the garden. Got all the tomatoes in, dill seed, cucumber seed and basil seeds planted. We'll see what happens.

Gardening

Got the gutters up and strawberries planted and moved from the pot near the sliding glass door. Also planted new parsley, dill and blueberry.   Stan worked on the fence and water. 

Repotting pt 2

Got most of the starts onto pots today. Except one pineapple and Isis Under the lamp in the garage

Repotted the first bunch today into solo cups. Tigers, manzano gigantes, and two others

Feb eggs

Total count 43 for a short month. Some days picked up 3 eggs. Yesterday caught not and Ethel sitting though...

Many green things and some primary leaves starting. Also planted 6 cells of black krim. An heirloom eating tomato

springtime already? Day 1

started the tomato seeds today.  Planted 7 varieties - who knows what will happen this year.  We decided with our dissapointment in other crops and a drought, we would just focus on tomatoes this year.  Ordered a bunch (too many) of varieties

I planted 2-3 seeds in each cell - and planted 3 cells of each except the super san marazanos - planted 6 cells

put them in the grow box with the heat mat.  Will add light above once they germinate and put the light on for 12-14 hours...hopefully we will see

egg count

they started up again in December with 17 eggs and another 7 in January.  Crazy chickens!! Started laying again on December 13th from a 8 week hiatus.
